General information about the city
Relleu (Spanish: Relleu) is a small town and municipality in the province of Alicante in the Marina Baja district (comarca). It has an area of 76.87 km² and just over 1200 inhabitants.
Relleu is located in the center of a valley surrounded by the mountains Cabezón de Oro (1209 m), Sierra de la Grana (1112 m) and Sierra del Aguilar (889 m). In the distance rises the impressive Aitana and Puig Campana mountain range. The municipality is crossed by the Amadorio River.
The town's economy is based on traditional agricultural activity (mainly almond and olive trees), as well as on a rapidly developing tourist and service sector.
How to get to Relleu?
The closest international airport to Relleu is in Alicante, which is the most convenient way to get to the city. The distance between Alicante and Relleu is 39 km. You can get to the city by bus, cab or rented car.
The fastest (but also the most expensive) way to get to Relleu is to take a cab, the journey in this case will take about half an hour. The cheapest way to get to Relleu is to take a Llorente Bus from Av. Denia station, which takes about 45 minutes.
The best way to get to Relleu is via highway CV-770 from Villajoyosa (on the road from Sella to Orceta).
